Community skills development and Outreach initiatives
Voluntary Community Outreach Programmes (short and long term)
A venue has especially been sourced and secured offering specialised training as well as the opportunity for professional members of the community and the general public to participate in the training and developing of the children at Footprints.
These professionals are representative of all categories of the business sector in South Africa, and their commitment and involvement results in the ongoing developing of the Footprints Ambassadors. Each and every child taken into the Footprints Family is assessed, encouraged and mentored on a continual basis, in order to ensure that they reach their maximum potential. It is in this area specifically that the Footprints ambassadors play a pivotal role with the individual mentoring of each specific Footprints child.
Having come from extreme previously disadvantaged personal backgrounds, we would like to share with you some of our beautiful success stories: Lebo undefeated in Inter Primary Athletics (200m) and Most Improved Learner in her class; Mahau and Nicholas awarded certificates from Play Tennis SA for Excellence; Qhamani for excellent behaviour in her class ( 3 months ago she could not speak English); Kogetso has been awarded certificates for Choir and Drama excellence – to mention but a few.
Current support in lieu of time, systems and training are; YWCA; Iris International-( a world missions organization); Joules Technology-(suppliers to the mining industry); Business Connexion-(I.T.) and Cawood’s Maintenance company.
